School events bring learning to life and help shape our school culture. They help students build confidence, connect with others and celebrate their progress. Events also give families a chance to be involved in school life and share in their child’s achievements.

Public Education Week 2026

Public Education Week is an annual celebration of NSW public education and the achievements of our schools, teachers and students. It will be celebrated from the 3rd to 7th August (Week 3) and this year’s theme is "Inspiring Excellence".

Throughout the week, students will participate in class activities based on the theme.

Parents and carers are invited to celebrate with us on Monday 3rd August. Please see the program of activities scheduled.

Book Week 2026

Book week is held from 24th to 28th August (Week 6) with a Book Week Parade on Wednesday 26th August.

The theme for Book Week this year is Symphony of Stories. Students are invited to dress up as their favourite book characters.

This year, Haberfield Public School is excited to invite local preschool children to our parade. Local preschools facilities have been invited so please see them for further details. If you know of a preschool child who does not attend a facility and is interested in joining us, please contact the school on Ph: 97988767 or email haberfield-p.school@det.nsw.edu.au
