Parents, carers and the community

As a parent or carer, you are an important part of our school community. We offer a range of services to support you and your family.

Parents and Citizens’ Association (P&C)

Enhancing our P&C Engagement

Our P&C is a vibrant community comprising parents, carers, and members of our community, all united by a common goal: to enrich the educational experience at Haberfield Public School (HPS). Regular P&C meetings serve as a platform for collaborative decision-making, policy development, and the pursuit of grant opportunities, alongside fundraising endeavours.

Diverse Activities and Achievements

Our P&C is a dynamic force, engaging in a multitude of initiatives aimed at enhancing our school environment. Over the past year, we've celebrated significant achievements, including the successful installation of air conditioning and upgrades to our electrical board, the drafting and implementation of a Behaviour Policy, and the initial rollout of new classroom furniture following a thorough audit. Additionally, our efforts in traffic safety, exemplified by the opening of the Chandos Street gate, have made significant strides in improving traffic safety around our school. Other past achievements include the advocacy for the construction of the pedestrian footbridge over Parramatta Road. Moreover, there has been a commendable increase in P&C membership, and our Uniform Shop has undergone a new and improved approach.

Looking ahead, our P&C is filled with enthusiasm for the upcoming year and is eagerly anticipating close collaboration with the school to expand upon current projects and pioneer innovative initiatives.

Fundraising for Purpose

Central to our mission is fundraising to improve our school’s environment and resources. In previous years, funds raised by our P&C have facilitated upgrades to play equipment, acquisition of literacy and numeracy resources, and the provision of interactive whiteboards.

Our P&C Fundraising groups take the lead in organising captivating events that unite our school community, fostering a sense of togetherness while also raising funds to enhance our school environment.

Lend a hand by joining one of our working groups – membership is not required to participate!
